Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Question: I am getting erroneous temperature readings from the motor RTD's. What could this mean?

Answer:

Newer RTD micro processor control systems are very sensitive. If the RTD checks out, here are a couple of items you may want to check.

Inspect the wiring between the motor and the control panel. Is the RTD wiring running in the same conduit with other electrical wiring? Stray voltage from other sources can induce unwanted voltages into the detector circuit. You may need to use shielded wire for your detector circuit or put the detector wire in a separate cable run far enough away from any possible influence of other conductors.

An unbalanced bridge circuit in the control can also give false readings.
