Installation Instructions
for U.S. Motors' Animated Screen Saver
For Windows '95 users only,
Click on the icon below.
Change selection "Open
It" (not save to disk).
Please follow the message
boxes, this will assist you in the installation process.
**Note: Do not change the install path or the program
will not install properly**
A warning box/ Authenticity
Certificate will appear. Click "Yes" to
continue.
From Windows '95
"Start" button, select "Run" then
type in c:\usemss\setup.exe, and click "OK".
To finish installation, single
click with the right mouse button on any clear area of
the desktop which will open a window. Select
"Properties" - when the "Display
Properties" window opens, click on the"Screen
Saver" tab.
In the "Screen Saver"
pull down menu, select "Avi Screen Saver".
Click on the "Settings..." button. At the
"Avi Screen Saver" window select
"Add". An "Open" window will appear -
then locate the folder named "c:\usemss\" and
double click. Then select the file name
"Anim.mov". The complete file and path name
should appear in the "Avi Screen Saver" window.
Single click on the file name
to highlight it, then click on the "Properties"
button. A "Properties" window will open. Click
on "Loop Indefinitely". Click the
"OK" button to accept the settings and close
the window. Click the "OK" button on the
"Avi Screen Saver" window to accept the
settings and close the window. Use the normal user
controls to set the wait time for the screen saver.
**Important, the user will need to decide if active movie
looks better than using your local movie player.**
Before you completely install
the screen saver you have the option to scale the screen
saver by clicking on the toggle bar named
"Scaling" and select the screen saver setting
to the size you want. The normal setting is "Full
Screen Size". Click "Apply" followed by
"OK" which will close the "Display
Properties" window. After the amount of wait time
selected passes, the USEM Animated Screen Saver will
start.
**If the screen saver does not
install properly you will need to install the Quick Time
Movie Player** -- To install the Quick Time Movie Player
from Windows 95, Click on the "Start" button,
select "Run", the select "Browse"
until you find the c:\usemss\QT32.exe, Click
"OK" and the installation will begin. Please
follow the various message boxes until the installation
is complete. After Quick Time Movie Player is installed,
repeat steps 5 thru 8.
